VAN DER VELDEN COMMANDER™ ROTARY VANE STEERING GEARVan der Velden COMMANDER™ rotary vane steering gear is ideal for all commercial oceangoing vessels as well as superyachts and inland ships. The simple, robust and compact design of the steering gear and the fact that it only has one movable part ensures trouble-free, maintenance-free operation for over 60,000 hours (20 years). Significant cost savings will be the obvious long- term result. It is available in rudder angles from 2 x 45 degrees to 2 x 65 degrees and over a torque range from 25 kNm to over 1600 kNm. The integrated rudder carrier is a part of the actuator. Bearings are designed to take the full vertical load of the rudder and rudder stock, with no additional rudder carrier being needed. Benefits
